I had just realized that all the petrol stations in Jindabyne closed at 10pm! It was nearly 1pm, and I didn't have enough fuel to make it to Cooma where my accommodation was. Despite the prospect of a freezing night in my car, I knew the incredible adventures we had that day made it all worthwhile as I counted down the hours until the petrol stations reopened in the morning.
Georgia and Greg's Thredbo wedding was a true testament to doing what you love on your special day. The sheer energy and enthusiasm they had, even after the celebrations had ended, left me in awe. When they contacted me with their plans for a snow-filled wedding, my excitement skyrocketed, and I promptly booked my accommodation. This, in my eyes, epitomized the essence of weddings—bringing together cherished loved ones in a remarkable setting to share an extraordinary day.
Originally planning for a September Thredbo wedding, Georgia and Greg hoped to capture a few snowy moments and revel in the magic Thredbo had to offer their family and friends over the weekend. Discovering their shared passion for skiing and snowboarding, I couldn't resist suggesting we hit the slopes together. They eagerly agreed! We meticulously organized their day, ensuring they got ready and had their first look before taking the entire bridal party on a mountain adventure.
It was particularly exhilarating because some of the bridal party had never seen snow before, adding an extra layer of joy to the mountaintop trek. We had an absolute blast with the bridal party, allowing Georgia, Greg, and myself to embark on our own unique adventure. I am always delighted when my couples are up for anything, ready to create amazing photos and make lasting memories along the way.
We paused for a few moments at the top, gazing out over the majestic mountain range, inhaling deeply to savor the moment. I encourage couples to do this as often as possible on their wedding day—amidst the rush, take a breath, look at each other, and truly appreciate the significance of the day. While I strive to capture countless precious moments, it cannot compare to the simple act of taking a pause, reflecting on the love and gratitude shared between two souls.
To conclude our thrilling adventure, a group of us strapped on our boards and skis, descending the slopes for one exhilarating run before the ceremony. What a magnificent way to kick things off! Waiting at the bottom, everyone braced the crisp winter air, warmed by the breathtaking sunset that had yet to disappear behind Mt Kosciuszko.
The ceremony overflowed with love, emotion, and a sense of adventure—everything one could hope for in a destination wedding. As the reception commenced, we were greeted by the 9pm fireworks lighting up the mountain, an awe-inspiring backdrop for a day filled with unforgettable moments. Hearing the heartfelt stories shared during receptions always warms my heart, allowing me to connect the dots and understand the deep bonds that form between family and friends over time.
These incredible individuals partied well past the designated cutoff time, seemingly fueled by an endless energy reserve. The celebration was a testament to their unwavering spirit, leaving everyone in awe of the love and joy that permeated every moment of this extraordinary day.
